Pokemon is one of the media franchise owned by video game company Nintendo and created by Satoshi Tajiri in 1995. The original Pokémon video game series is identical with Game Boy console. Pokémon is the second most successful video game in the world after the Mario series is also created by Nintendo. Meanwhile, when compared with others, Pokémon is the third best-selling series franchise in the world after the James Bond (Ian Fleming's work) and Transformers (by Hasbro), which is still ongoing and updated as time travel. Pokémon franchise itself appears in various forms, anime, manga, trading cards, toys, books, and much more. This media franchise celebrated its tenth anniversary on February 27, 2006. And on April 23, 2008, the Pokémon video game sales turnover has reached 180 million copies, surpassing the sales of the Transformers video game.

The name Pokémon is a romanization of the Japanese name "Pocket Monsters" (ポケット モンスター, Poketto Monsutā?). Reference to "Pokémon" is referring to the 493 fictional species that appears in all the Pokémon series. Like the words deer and sheep, the word "Pokémon singular and plural in English is no different. Pokémon word in English can refer to one or more of the Pokémon only one.

In the month of November 2005, 4Kids Entertainment, which became a distributor Pokémon outside Japan announced that they will not extend their contract with The Pokémon Company, Japan. Aware that The Pokémon Company, Japan will not be successful if without the help of colleagues from outside of Japan, The Pokémon Company, Japan then created a subsidiary based in the U.S.. The company was then known by the name of Pokémon USA, Inc.. His job is to become a distributor at the same time for Pokémon licensing outside of Asia region, including in Africa.

The basic concept
Original concept of the Pokémon, as it appears in video games and all the fictional Pokémon in general, is to adopt a hobby of collecting insects, where it was never done by Satoshi Tajiri when he was a child. In video games, the player known as Pokémon Trainer (en: Pokémon trainer). There are three common goals that must be done by each coach for the complete contents of Pokémon Pokédex. First, you must catch all species of Pokémon that exist in a region where you are. Second, you are required to develop a species of Pokémon that you've got to be strong and then can win against another challenger, and the additional goal is to defeat Team Rocket. Third or last, if your Pokémon are strong enough students in terms of physical and technique, you've got a great opportunity to fight the strongest trainers, who then called the Pokémon Master. All these things exist in the entire series Pokémon franchise, including video games, anime, manga, and trading cards.

In the majority of the Pokémon series, a coach who can confront the power of wild Pokémon can be caught for the pet and then made his own by throwing an object that can reduce the density of the Pokémon, which is then called Poke Ball. With the capture wild Pokémon, then the coach officially has a wild Pokémon. Pokémon owned by other people can not be seized by force with a Poke Ball, unless there are other things that the agreement between the two coaches who fight for example, exchange (trade), or to buy them. Pokémon that we have to be our next pertarungkan with wild Pokémon with fellow coach or another. For Pokémon who won the battle, surely will grow and increase its strength. They get experience points, and the chance to ascend to a higher level if the time was ripe. When they level up his statistics will automatically increase, such as attack, defense, speed, and much more. From time to time the Pokémon may know a few new moves, which can be used in battle. On several occasions, there are most kinds of Pokémon that when you reach a certain level or with other eligible such as using evolution stones and certain items (like rare candy), will metamorphose into a new species, which was then known by the name of evolution.

In a series of video games, we must act as trainers to raise a team of Pokémon to defeat many types of Pokémon that are owned by the coach of our rivals or competitors, except of course also to defeat a variety of wild Pokémon and other trainers. Layout of Pokémon games are mostly linear, and around a fictional region in the Pokémon world (because the planet Earth a different version of the Pokémon world with a fictional version of Earth that is used in several series such as Transformers or James Bond, who describes the world in a real situation like that we live today ). In every game Pokémon, it already contains eight master's specialist, later known as the Pokémon Gym Leaders (id: gym leader). We as coaches one by one shall defeat the gym leader if you want to get the badge / pin which then can we use as an admission ticket to the national championship Pokémon League (League Pokémon). Where is there we will challenge the four elders Pokémon came to be called the Elite Four. And if we managed to win against the Elite Four, we will be brought to challenge the Regional Champion, and if we managed to win against the Regional Champion, then we will be ratified as a National Champion and has the right bears the name of Pokémon Master.

Starter Pokémon

The main aspects that still survive from the Pokémon series version of the game - rather than Red and Blue versions of the Nintendo Game Boy to the Nintendo DS version of the game, Diamond and Pearl - is the selection of one of three different Pokémon in the early start of our adventures while playing video games Pokémon . It was later known as the starter Pokémon, with three different types of Pokémon. We can choose a Grass-type (type of plants / trees), Fire-type (type of fire), or Water-type (type of water). For example, in Pokémon Red and Blue (and its remake version, Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen), players can choose Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle. Exceptions only for Pokémon Yellow (which is a remake of the story in season one Pokémon TV series), where players are given a Pikachu, which is the electric type Pokémon, and is the main mascot of the Pokémon franchise. Another thing that also characterizes the player's rival will always choose the Pokémon that has the ability similar to us but more powerful Pokémon in the case of its kind. Examples are as follows:

* Jkia we choose fire-type Pokémon, the rival will choose the type of water
* If we choose the water type Pokémon, the rival will choose the type of plants / trees
* If we choose the Pokémon types of plants / trees, the rival will choose the type of fire.

Again an exception is provided for Pokémon Yellow, where our rivals to get Eevee.
Pokédex

Pokédex is a fictional electronic device is present in all video games and anime series Pokémon. In the game, if a Pokémon seen or captured, the data from these Pokémon will go into the owner's Pokédex. Yet another case with the anime or manga, which in this version is a free electronic Pokédex complete that can be used to seek or obtain information about the Pokémon that we met. Pokédex usually used to refer to the list of Pokémon, or more details for a list of Pokémon by number. In video games, we play as a Pokémon Trainer who will start with an empty Pokédex when we start the adventure. To fill them, we have entered the battle with wild Pokémon, or if better, we need to catch wild Pokémon that we meet so that they get more information. Once we succeed in defeating or capturing Pokémon, we will receive information such as pictures, names, and places these Pokémon in the Pokédex habitat.

In Pokémon Red and Blue, some Pokémon can actually get into Pokédex list without having to beat them, but enough to see or meet him alone, like at a zoo near Safari Zone. In development, the Pokédex and then give us complete information about the species, size, weight, and the step-Pokémon step that we have. Even Pokédex in Pokémon G3 already contains a complete list of habitats where the living is konfrehensif Pokémon, such as mountain, city, or forest.
